Our studio was approached by the garden owners with the wish to build upon the existing design created by the L&SCAPE studio and bring a new layer to the space. The garden already had a strong foundation in the form of a carport, pathways, and young — now fairly mature — pine trees and shrub borders. These elements formed a backdrop the clients were happy with. Over time, however, the way the family wanted to use the garden changed. It became clear that the original large lawn area no longer reflected their needs or their vision of spending leisure time outdoors.
Our task was therefore not to radically transform the garden, but rather to sensitively develop it further and enrich it with additional detail. We focused primarily on reducing the lawn areas and dividing them into smaller sections by expanding the perennial planting layer, which brings greater variation, color, and a more intimate scale to the garden.
The new layout created several distinct garden corners. On the side of the house, adjacent to the indoor swimming pool, we designed a wooden terrace with sun loungers. Behind the house, we proposed a dining area beneath a newly created pergola, while the remaining corner of the plot was used for a herb and vegetable garden. In the front part of the garden, we created a cozy nook with a hammock and a bench. The design also includes a playful feature requested by the clients — a tree slide for children.
