The main requirements we dealt with regarding the exterior modifications were to use locally sourced materials and to visually link the roof terrace with the facade. The wood has been selected in cooperation with the client and with Olgoj Chorchoj studio, the author of the general architectural expression of the houseboat. The client desired a small kitchen with a barbecue, a seating and a daybed for possible over-night stays. Drought-resistant greenery in custom-made planters were naturally added. The requirement of shading the roof terrace has been solved by installing a heavy-duty UV resistant canvas. Steel columns stretching the canvas serve as a structure for metal wires supporting climbing greens as well as for a chain of solar light bulbs, priceless in the night time.
